So this is how it went down. I decided in the spring/winter of 2008 that I was going to get a scooter to ride to work that summer to save on gas, and to avoid having to plate/insure a motorcycle. So after poking around on Ebay and realizing that Vespas that were in decent shape were out of my budget range, I happened across a listing for a Silver Pigeon. Or rather, a pile of silver pigeon. This is what it looked like..
I’ve honestly seen worse, but can’t remember when. So I poked around on the web a bet more to see what this Pigeon thing was supposed to actually look like and found www.silverpigeons.com, the one and only site that had any information on what this thing was. So seeing how neat they looked (when they had all their parts), and wanting something different and not 2 stroke I bought it.
My blog over at somethingthatdoesntsuck has a break down of all that came next. I got it running, some how managed to collect parts for it. Enough so that if I can get the clutch sorted out it may be ridable. But that whole year of digging around the internet trying to find information and parts was fun, but at times frustrating. So I’m hoping this site will help those in need of information and help the Silver Pigeons that are out there stay scooting for many years to come.
Almost there, just a little was to go yet and Wobbles’s will be bombing up and down the dirt roads.
